Comments: Climb high; See wide! On the 102nd floor, my mum and I sat in front of a huge sheet of glass. Listening to relaxing music, we gazed at the bustling city in amazement. The fleecy white clouds drifted across the sky. At times, rays of sunlight pierced the clouds and gilded the sea on which the waves danced and sparkled. Most of the cakes were luscious except the scones which were as hard as rocks. Visitors are advised to arrive at the hotel at 13:30 on weekdays in order to grab two window seats since reservations are not accepted. Besides, please note that gentlemen should not wear shorts and sandals. Moreover, it is a good idea to check the weather forecast beforehand and go there on a windy day so that one can enjoy the breathtaking view. Finally, you may want to put on sunscreen. Anyway, we had a great time and highly recommend The Lounge & Bar to you.

Comments: The cakes look great, but the taste is weird and the lobby is too noisy. It is NOT value for money in my opinion.
Chocolate Passion - The mixture of passion fruit and chocolate is a bit weird. I think it is not everyone's cup of tea. Even Maxim's Napoleon is better. The texture is quite good tough, thanks to the crunchy base. By the way, the mini macaroon tastes nice.
Green Tea and Raspberry - I love the green tea, but the raspberry is too icy and artificial. The two flavors do not go well with each other. The spongy grassy surface also tastes like rubber.
Mango Delight - The mango-like surface is soggy and artificial. It tastes like cough syrup.
Banana Cacao - A very good mixture of banana and chocolate!
Pot de Cacao - The bottle looks nice, but the taste is not very special.
fantastic experience, i can feel it from the pics. too crowded & noisy will be the major concern. it's hong kong, nothing u can do.

regarding the high tea, it seems too much & a bit heavy.
回覆刪除[版主回覆06/12/2011 00:47:00]I did not have lunch on that day and I was full after having the high tea. Perhaps you can skip the scones. I also advise people to eat one of the scones first because when it is cold, it is not delicious and will be as hard as a rock.

回覆刪除[版主回覆06/12/2011 00:48:00]A weekday! The sky was quite clear. I checked the weather forecast beforehand, so I knew that the wind would be quite strong (level 4). That was why I went there on that day. It was also a coincidence that I had an afternoon off that particular day haha.
這不單是一頓豐富豪華的...而且還很溫馨，因為與媽媽一起享受，so sweet

Anyway, I enjoy sharing the information with others in the hope that others can also enjoy the breathtaking view at a reasonable price. Happiness is real when shared, right?!

回覆刪除I had been to Ritz Carlton in Central years ago, but not this one. Wow, $235 per head for high tea (service charge included already?) , so pricey!!! It seems the upper the floor, the higher the price!

The view is really sooooo Great We went to the Sky100 last Wednesday(next to the Hotel). They offer special price for HK citizen (buy one $150.00 get one free with HKID & $65.00 special price for student-any type of student ID including oversea). It is worth to go up there to take a look.....

[版主回覆06/14/2011 21:06:00]YES, but the cakes in Pastry Gems only look good. Indeed the taste is a bit weird, not particularly impressive. The Lounge and Bar is worth visiting mainly because of the view, but the high tea set is not bad wor.
No restaurant wor.......only a deli/snack shop, not as fancy as 5 star hotel la.........LOL...more local

我家大少雖然仍是學生,不過佢都會抽時間陪我出外食飯... HIGH TEA我又未帶過佢去, 諗落都要帶佢見識0下... 謝謝你的分享... 食物,相片和人看上去都很有水準啊...
